We create an “all-in-one” wellness experience for you during your retreat stay. We are honoured to host inspiring facilitators and themes year-round at Rising Spirit.

You deserve an all-inclusive retreat to re-invigorate, recharge, and nurture your whole being. If you are craving a weekend of nourishment and knowledge, the perfect experience is right around the corner. During your stay, you are free to participate in as much or as little of the structured, themed sessions as you’d like – it’s all about your intention and going back to your busy life in a healthy and refreshed state. Singles, couples & friend/family groups are welcome! The weekend retreat fee is all-inclusive for:

Mindful Self-Compassion & the 12 Steps

Are you in recovery and ready to build your emotional resilience through deeper self-discovery and self-kindness?  This retreat will draw on the wisdom of the 12 steps as we expand our moment-by-moment awareness of thoughts and emotions, building a deeper happiness and reducing anxiety, depression and shame.  This workshop includes surrendering to challenging emotions, motivating through kindness not criticism, understanding the physiology and neuroscience behind MSC and how to become your own best, guide.  It will include gentle yoga, meditation and breath work.  By leaning into the 12 steps using mindful self-compassion, you will learn to continually open your heart to accepting the reality of life as it is and deepen your emotional resilience.

Fee: $350 plus HST = 395.50

I fell in love with mindfulness over 25 years ago because I needed help: I felt anxious and distressed most of the time. Recovery and the amazing wisdom of the 12 steps entered my life a few years later.

Then, I began to integrate mindfulness and the 12 steps and found the combination incredibly potent. My own healing journey deepened and I began to experience powerful changes.

I eventually trained as a mindfulness facilitator and life coach and integrated my personal and professional selves. I continue to practice the 12 steps daily, offer guided meditations, individual coaching and retreats. Each day, I experience profound gratitude for the gifts of recovery and how mindfulness and self-compassion have woven themselves into the tapestry of my life.

Spirit Releasement Therapy Training

  • with Heloisa da Silva Porto

An intensive 5-Day training for practitioners, therapists, and people familiar with and suffering interferences, providing you with a safe and effective way to deal with them.  Both theoretical and experiential instruction will focus on the SRT methodology of William Baldwin PhD and touch on how different shamanic traditions deal with these interferences.  This is a very intensive program for personal work, learning and expansion of awareness and skills and includes, but not limited to, the history of SRT, fragmentation, Thought Forms, ET phenomena and Elementals and combination or clusters.

Heloisa da Silva Porto is a registered Psychotherapist assisting clients with trauma, depression, anxiety, or spiritual search for their emotional and spiritual development.  She has been in private practice since 1997 and in 2003 studied Spirit Releasement therapy with the author of this methodology.  Since 2008 Heloisa has been teaching this method and brings her deep understanding of these phenomena to light through the lenses of ancient shamanic traditions.  Other trainings include Somatic Psychology, Regression, Shamanic Practice, and Heloisa is an initiated Elder of the Dagara African tradition in the West.

Beyond the Six Senses Yoga & Holistic Retreat

  • With Cynthia Banks & Norma Ackerley

Celebrate your Senses with this powerful exploration of touch, sight, smell, sound, taste, and proprioception to catapult your brain and body receptors to the next level of mindfulness and remind you of the immensity of your wholeness and being.  This weekend will combine sound baths, reiki, aromatherapy, mindful eating, nature and fire with meditation, relaxation, breath work, chakras and yoga to invigorate you and awaken your perception of the world around you.  We will then withdraw the senses to remember the omnipresent nature of your true Self.

Fee:  $525 plus HST = $593.25

Combining yoga, breathwork, meditation, anxiety & stress reduction, along with her spiritual experience in recovery has allowed Cynthia to create a space at Rising Spirit for guests to connect to their higher selves and with like-minded community.  It is an honour and a privilege to hold the space for these experiences.

Norma loves all things yoga! She’s taught many styles of yoga and fitness for over 20 years, as well as offering yoga teacher training.   Norma believes that yoga is for every body at every age.  Her classes are inclusive, nurturing and creative, guiding students to experience the beauty and benefits of yoga. Norma is also a passionate nature lover and hiker, community volunteer, mom and book-nerd.
